19 years old , barely out of high school, her first job and she scored big. It was a dream job, 78,000 a year, full medical and an amazing retirement package she couldn't have dreamed her life to be this great. Her first week coincided with the companies yearly team building exercises. Perfect, she was able to wow her bosses with her willingness to work with others and her go get 'em attitude. The end of the first week left her feeling a high she had never felt before. At the end of the day the motivational speaker asked them all to do a presentation on how they were similar to their cars and come back Monday with their presentation and preferably a prop to accent their reasoning. All weekend she slaved over the assignment, she had it in the bag. Monday rolled around and she was floating on cloud nine as she prepped for her presentation and headed to work.
The first man to do his presentation brought in a simple picture of him on a horse and briefly explained how his horses were like the horse power in his F250. Then an elderly gentleman had a safari hat in hand and told of the time he went on an expedition through the jungle. Feeling slightly uncomfortable she still clapped at the end of his presentation and watched the next woman stand up and try to correlate her daughter's cube shaped night lite to her car. The instructions were unclear! The last lady before her presented her plush steering wheel cover to her PT cruiser and explained how she liked to cruise in comfort. Finally it was her turn. All eyes were on her, as if they hadn't been the entire time
anyways. She tried to covertly tuck the 15 page manuscript she created during the weekend behind her, her embarrassment radiated from her like an over door left open. She froze. Slowly her head began to tuck into the giant foam beetle outfit she had made.
