The Magician & the Parrot

There once was a street magician who performed magic with cards, rings and many more items in his arsenal of tricks. One day he was approached by a well dressed man who offered him a steady job upon a cruise ship. The street magician eagerly accepted this opportunity and began performing his in the theater of the cruise ship. It was an amazing gig for him as he had free living, free dining and he got the chance to visit exotic places.

Unfortunately, a problem arose. The captain of the ship fancied himself as an old sea dog and had a pet parrot that was too smart for its own good. The parrot would watch the magic show and was able to figure out the tricks after a few repeat performances. This would be all fine and well except that the parrot was quite the loud mouth. After a trick was performed you would hear "SQUAWK! The card is up his sleeve! The card is up his sleeve!" or "SQUAWK! The sword is fake! The sword is fake! SQUAWK!" The exotic animal proceeded to give away all the magician's secrets during every show.

The magician hated that bird, but the captain loved it. There was simply nothing the magician could do to remedy the situation. Then one day a horrific storm hit the boat and sunk it to the bottom of the ocean. The magician managed to get aboard a broken piece of boat about the size of a small raft. He was left adrift long after the storm had passed. To his dismay, the parrot had chosen that piece of boat as well. There the two sat. Days passed and not a word was exchanged between the two. The finally the parrot broke the silence "SQUAWK! I give up! Where did you hide the boat?"
