The dog dies and the daughter is miserable. Nothing will cheer her up.
The parents eventually decide that the only thing that will fix things is if they get her a new dog, so the dad drives off (in the same car, turns out it didn't take too much damage) to the store. When he gets back home, he calls his daughter downstairs to check out the big surprise.
The daughter comes down and sitting right there in the living room is a brand new speaker!
"What?" said the dad, "it's a sub-woofer!"
