the farmer murdered all the chicken's family and the chicken can no longer bear to sleep in the same coop let alone the same side of the road as the human that took away the only love of her life; so in the dark of the night she plans her escape... she packs her belongings and makes a beeline for the coop's door, but wait! there is a strange noise outside; it's a fox! now she is torn between risking her life for the chance at peace or staying in a place she know she'll surly die. after what seemed like a lifetime she quivered by the coops door waiting for the rustling to stop. finally the night grows quiet once more and she peeps her head out to see a stary night. she keeps her clucks to a minimum and her footsteps light, she felt like her heart was beating like an Indian drum and then, she saw the road and she knew the grass would greener than where she stood. and then the chicken took a step, then another, then another. and at last she could see the light at the end of her dark, dark tunnel. she began to sprint, clucking her little heart out with glee until it was too late, the light she had been racing towards ran her over and she lay there, blood, feathers and tears. So my friend, the next time someone asks you why the chicken crossed the road, remember this life we live isn't painted in black and white, there are no easy, clear answers, even in the chickens case. There was so much more than just getting to the other side. Fin.
