The pact of brothers...

Jeff has moved to a new country and has settled in a new place. Around the corner is a bar which Jeff goes to check out.

Once in, Jeff orders 3 beers in a row and begins to drink them simultaneously... The bar tender thinks this a bit strange but nevertheless he is making business.

Jeff frequents the bar, generally nightly and each time he orders 3 beers in a row, drinking them simultaneously... The bar tender/other patrons who are now friendly with Jeff, ask him why he does this.

Jeff begins to explain that he has 2 brothers, Sam & Steve and before he left home to come to this new country, they made a pact that they would always order 3 beers at a time and drink them simultaneously as a memory of how they would always go out and be/drink together at bars. The bar tender and patrons are touched by this story.

This goes on and on until one day, Jeff comes in and orders 2 beers. Everyone in the bar goes silent. After a while the bar tender pulls Jeff aside and says to him "I'm sorry for your loss, you must be devastated..." - Jeff looks at him for a second and asks "loss, what do you mean?" - The bar tender informs Jeff of only ordering 2 beers and he presumed that one of the brothers must have passed on and Jeff says...

"No, no, no nothing like that - the doctor just informed me that I've got to quit drinking so that is what I've done :)"
