Beeping from the walls.

There was this Pear that lived in an apartment complex. Every morning he would get up to read the morning paper. One morning as he was reading the news, there came a loud beeping noise from the walls that went on for 2-3 minutes. The pear thought nothing of it, and just thought that it was the neighbour's alarm clock going off.

However, the next morning it happened again. And the morning after that, and the morning after that and it kept happening every day as he read the news. At this point, he thought he was being watched. He started going out less and less as the days went past. Eventually he stopped going to work entirely. His friends were calling him, his parents were calling him, his boss was calling him but still he would not leave the house. He truly thought someone was spying on him.

After nearly 2 months of this, one of his friends barges down the door and rips off a chunk of his wall. He pulls out an alarm clock that he had put there as a practical joke, but he never intended it to go that far.

So while no one was being watched, the alarm clock did leave one pear annoyed.
