After years of fighting crime, Batman is getting old and his friends encourage him to give it up.
The Justice League throws a party for Batman's retirement. Superman and the Green Lantern get Batman a 500 foot statue of himself and put it in the center of Gotham's central park where the party is held. After the night goes on Batman has too much to drink. The old coot says he still has it in him and challenges the Flash to a race to the top of the statue. Flash accepts and runs so fast he reaches the top before the Bats even gets a step toward the statue. Batman is laughed at by the rest of the party, but he still continues to drunkenly stumble to the foot of the statue. Troubled by the look of his walk, Superman tries to talk Batman out of climbing the statue. Unconvinced, Batman fires his grappling hook and in a swoosh, makes it to the top. Now happy with himself he pushes the Flash off the top and declares victory. In an instant the Flash returns to the top and removes the drunken Batman's cloak right off his back.
"Good luck getting down now Bats!" says the Flash as he dashes away. Now stranded at the top of his 500 foot statue, Batman calls out for help. His old side kick Nightwing swings in for a quick rescue. Batman and Nightwing tip back a few more in celebration of the good times they have had.
The moral of the story: Whenever you get drunk at a party, your oldest friends will always let you down.
