St. Peter greets the little fellow, and shows him around. The little penguin waddles after St. Peter attentively and listens to every word he has to say. At the end St. Peter asks "Do you have any questions?"
The little bird hesitates, but then he musters up the courage and asks "St. Peter, all my life I have wondered...am I black, or am I white?"
St. Peter just shakes his head and tells him that he doesn't know either and that they have to ask the 'big guy' ...
So out of thin air a door appears. St. Peter gestures the tiny penguin through the door. The penguin enters and it's very bright inside. He only hears a big, voluminous voice that calmly asks what the little creature wants. Again, the penguin asks "god, all my life I have wondered, am I black or am I white?", and god says "you are what you are". And without further explanation the penguin finds himself suddenly with St. Peter again, who is also pretty interested and asks what answer god gave him...the penguin says "I'm not really sure what to make of this, St. Peter, he just told me 'you are what you are' and that was it..." and St. Peter replies "oh, but then you're white, if you were black he would have told you 'you *is* what you *is*'!"
