Why do Malinese animals do what they do?

While traveling in Mali a local explained to me why animals on the road all react in a different way. Maybe it's the same in other countries, but I don't know.

One day, Cow wanted to take the bus home from work. He gave the bus driver some bills, got his change and got out at home.
The next day, Goat also took the bus home. He didn't have any money so he told the bus driver he would get the money form home when they arrived. When they got there the goat exited the bus and quickly ran laughing.
The after that, Dog also took the bus. Thinking about how he was scammed yesterday, the bus driver told him he had no change for his bills but would be right back. Dog waited and waited, but the bus never came back.

This is explains why a cow on the road won't move for the bus: it has no business with the driver. Goats will always run away, as they are afraid the driver will demand his money. Dogs are the opposite: they will come from all over the village to chase the bus, trying to get their money.
