This teacher happens to be a physics teacher who's also a football coach and religious.
So one day he's out during a game, and the team is in a huddle praying, and a kid says "Hey coach, if the other team is praying like we are, how does God answer both prayers?"
The teacher thinks for a minute and says, "Well, it's like this. In quantum physics, it's theorized that there is a multiverse, and every possible event actually occurs. So in one universe, God favors us, and in another, God favors the other team. So don't feel bad if the other guys lose, because in some universe they win."
"Oh, okay. Thanks coach."
"Anytime."
The other coach, who had overheard, comes closer and says "Wow, that was kind of neat. Is it really true?"
"Well, a lot of physicists take it seriously. It's definitely one way to interpret quantum mechanics."
"Amazing. Well, that makes me feel better. Thanks!"
"Well," the teacher says. "Don't get your hopes up." He walks over to the opposing team with the other coach in tow. "You guys are so fucked up, there's actually *no* universe in which you win. Ha ha ha!"
