The Blue Drink

Ryan was new in the city and had heard about an interesting club on a skyscraper rooftop. Deciding to check it out, Ryan rode the elevator up to the roof.

*Ding*

The elevator doors opened and he was blown away by what he saw. The atmosphere, the music, the people, it was perfect. As he scanned the scene, his heart skipped a beat as he saw a man in a suit on the far end of the roof standing on the edge. Before Ryan could say a word, the gentleman jumped.

No one saw, or at least no one reacted to it, save for himself. Completely shocked, he couldn't move.

*Ding*

The man in the suit stepped off the elevator, marched straight to the bar and drunkenly shouted "Barkeep! Another!" slamming his hand on the counter. The barkeeper mixed his concoction and poured a glowing blue drink into a glass, passing it to the man in the suit, who downed it instantly. Staggering, he wandered over to the edge of the roof again and jumped.

Dumbfounded, Ryan looked on while the club continued to blast its music and the patrons danced. This time, he waited, and sure enough...

*Ding*

The same man walked straight for the bar, slamming his palm on the counter, finger in the air. "Barkeep! A-another!" he sputtered out. Interrupting the gentleman before he could absorb his drink, Ryan exclaimed "HOW? I just--- but you--- you jumped! I saw you!" With a knowing grin, the man in the suit leaned in close. "It's this drink! Right after you drink it, you can't die!"

Astonished, Ryan announced to the barkeeper, "Barkeeper! I'll have what he's having!" With a shrug, the barkeeper mixed the glowing blue drink once more, sliding it to Ryan. Copying what he'd seen, Ryan downed it in one go and walked over to the edge. Looking back, the man in the suit gave him a drunken thumbs up, and a wink.

Ryan jumped.

The bartender looked to the man in the suit, "Superman, you are a dick when you're drunk."
