Apple Salesman

A man has just moved from Japan to America and doesn't speak a word of English. He accepts a job as an apple salesman only because his boss is Japanese - American and speaks both English and Japanese.

It's his first day on the job and he has his first customer, the customer asks "How much are these apples?" Not knowing what to say, he goes to his boss and asks what to say. His boss tells him to say "Fifty cents! Fifty cents!" So he returns to the customer and responds "Fifty cents! Fifty cents!" And the customer buys an apple.

The apple salesman has his second customer who asks "are these apples fresh?" Again, he goes to his boss and asks what to say. His boss tells him to say "Fresh, fresh, very fresh". So, again he goes back to the customer and says "Fresh, fresh, very fresh". And the second customer buys an apple as well.

The apple salesman has his third and final customer of the day who asks "Should I buy these apples?" Again, he goes to his boss and asks what to say. His boss tells him to say "If you don't, somebody else will!" So, again he goes back to the customer and says "If you don't, somebody else will!" And the customers buys a couple apples.

At the end of the day, his boss tells him that if he says those three responses every time he's asked a question while working, he'll become very successful. So, that's exactly what he does and he goes on to sell 2 million apples and make 1 million dollars. Which he keeps in a safe that he, himself guards.

One day, while guarding his safe, a thief comes up to the him and says "HOW MUCH IS IN THE SAFE?!?!" The man responds "Fifty cents! Fifty cents!" The thief says, "ARE YOU BEING FRESH WITH ME?!?!" The man responds "Fresh, fresh, very fresh!". The thief says, "Should I kill you?" And the man responds, "If you don't, somebody else will!" So the thief kills the man and takes all the money.
