My boyfriend (a League guy) and I (a DOTA gal) were grocery shopping the other day. His brother was driving and Boyfriend was in the front seat. Since we forgot the trunk key (it's a Chevy Celebrity, you need a key) I was forced to spoon with the groceries in the back seat. When we got home, I struggled to get out of the car, holding massive amounts of groceries in my hands. Boyfriend is easily distracted, so it stands to reason that he was messing with his phone while I tottered about the parking lot with an armful of groceries. But then...I realized what I must say to get his ass in gear.
I turned to Boyfriend. "Hey, why don't you do what you can't do in DOTA and help carry?" His jaw dropped. Then laughter ensued. He followed me into the house with many bags. You know those comebacks that are PERFECT but you think of them like 3 hours later? This felt like one of those. Except it actually happened on time. I'm pleased with the outcome, anyway, and he got a laugh.
Tl;Dr: When your gamer bf/gf won't help carry in groceries, just tell them to help carry for a change.
