This is a visual joke. Practice it with a close friend and then bring the house down at your next party.
Equipment is simple: An ordinary (old-style) light bulb and a piece of pink cloth, about 24" X 15."
Announce that you are the great Mandini, renowned magician and you are going to turn this light bulb (display it) into a peach!
Invite a female in the audience to be your "assistant." Do a little dialogue with her so that your audience knows that she knows nothing about your magic or your illusions.
You: "I will now place the lightbulb under this mysterious cloth." (flourish the cloth and drape it over the lightbulb) " and I and my assistant will grab the lightbulb at the same time so you know there isn't any hijinx."
(Turn to your assistant:) Do you feel the lightbulb in there?" (she shakes her head or says "yes."
"Now I am going to remove my hand from the lightbulb and it is going to be up to my assistant to hold it tightly while I perform the magic to turn it into a peach."
"See, I am going to gather up the ends of this cloth (cluster together the hanging draped ends) and my assistant is going to slowly twist and twirl the bulb. As she twists, you can see there is absolutely no way that the bulb can escape."
At some point, the twisting will create a crude pink cylinder of cloth with a bulbous end. You keep up the banter with the assistant. "Is the bulb still there?... Grip it tightly now."
Suddenly you take your end of the cloth, gently stretch it and place it in your groin area, while your assistant holds the bulb end, and you turn to your audience and say...
"There... isn't that a peach?"
