Ages ago in the Edo Era, the emperor calls over his general:
"I'm having trouble thinking of a flag for my country. You have three days to create one before you are executed".
The first night goes by and the general is clueless.
The second night go by and he is still clueless.
On the final night, his favorite courtesan comes to his room and spends the night with him knowing he will be executed tomorrow.
The general wakes up the next day and sees a pool of blood on his white bed sheets. "Eureka!" he thought. And like that the Japanese flag was created...
