A surgeon and an elderly patient are riding in an elevator when the doors open. The surgeon notices a young woman running towards them, waving her arms frantically in an obvious plea to hold the door. The surgeon, chivalrously, holds out his hand to stop the door. The woman darts into the lift just as the doors seem almost ready to close on his hand. The patient scolds the surgeon for his recklessness.
"Your hands are your life!", she exclaims reproachfully and suggests he use something less important next time to hold the elevator door open.
As they travel on, the elevator door opens once again and a man can be seen walking briskly towards them, arms full of documents. The surgeon goes to hold the door open. However, this time he heeds the patient's advise and withdraws his hand. With the doors quickly closing the surgeon his searches his brain, thinking of a way. Just as the doors are about to close the surgeon leaps forward and sticks his head between the doors.
