Subject-Object-Verb language problems

An Italian gives a speech in a conference hall filled with English, French and Japanese people. The speaker speaks Italian, and his speech gets simultaneously translated into English, French and Japanese through audiosets.

At one point, the speaker starts telling a joke. All the English and the French people start laughing, tears coming from their eyes; whereas all the Japanese are just calmly listening, all with serious faces.

One of the English can't hold himself and goes to a Japanese and asks: "Why aren't you guys laughing? Don't you find it funny?"

To which, the Japanese respond: "We're waiting for the verb."
