Dog poop

There is a city in India where dog poop is used as currency instead of paper money. One day in this city a man really wanted to buy a woven basket for his wife and he knew that a store near him was having a basket sale. So the day before he went, he fed his dog two big meals knowing that the next day he could count on two big dog poops to pay with.

The following day, he walked down to the store with his dog; set on buying this beautiful woven basket for his wife. He entered the store and immediately laid eyes on the basket; it caught the light and radiated beauty. He rushed to the counter and sputtered out, “can I buy that basket? I have two big dog poops almost ready.”

The storeowner said that it would not be a problem, but that he needed to have the poop before he could sell the basket to him. Slightly miffed, the man started to squeeze his dog because he knew that any second another man could walk right in and buy the basket out from under him.

Lo and behold, the door swung open and in walked a man holding a piece of dog poop in his palm. He walked up to the counter and asked the storeowner if he could buy the basket, as he had a dog poop right there ready for the taking. The storeowner looked at the man squeezing his dog and the man standing there with poop in his hand.

The storeowner then promptly took the poop out of the man’s hand and gave him the basket. Satisfied, the man with the basket walked out of the store. This left only a disappointed man and dog behind. “Why did you give him the basket? I have two big poops right here!” said the man with the dog.

The storeowner shrugged his shoulders as he replied, “You know what they say: a turd in the hand is worth two in the tush.”
