A detective is sent to investigate a robbery. He makes his way to the crime scene and starts asking questions.
He asks his first potential witness if anything suspicious was going on the day of the robbery. The witness reported that an unknown tall and thin man with brown hair was in the area. The detective took down the information and moved on.
A second witness recalled a brown haired man of medium height and weight snooping around. The detective felt this info corresponded with earlier reports, but was determined to get as much info as possible before returning to the station.
Eventually a third witness showed up. This witness reported seeing a short and heavy set man, also with brown hair. The detective wrote down the details and left the area.
Back in his office, the detective poured over his information. A policeman entered the room and said, "hey, I think I've found the man who committed that robbery." He gestured to a grey haired man in the holding area.
"I don't think that could be him," said the detective. "All the leads are brown, and this guy is grey."
