A women joins a cloistered convent where the nuns take a vow of silence. She takes the name Sister Maria. As a relief from the vow of silence, every five years they are allowed to speak one word to the mother superior.
The first five year anniversary comes up and Sister Maria tells the Mother Superior, "Food", and then goes back to her duties in silence. Another five years pass and this time Sister maria says, "stinks." Five years more and she says, "Bed". On year twenty she is called to the Mother Superior's office and says, "hard." On her silver jubilee, Sister Maria tells the mother superior one word, "I". On the thirtieth anniversary she tells the mother superior another word, "quit."
The Mother Superior turns to her and says, "I'm not surprised, you've done nothing but complain the whole time you've been here."
