Two GOP senators to vote no on Betsy DeVos

REPORT FOLLOWS

Republicans expressed confidence that there will be no more defections. They can’t afford any, as no Democrats are set to back DeVos.

“I expect her to be confirmed,” Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) told our reporter who caught up with him on the street. “You can take that to the bank.”

* When asked which bank he meant he replied a terse "What?"

* When asked again which bank the reporter could take the words to, the Republican senator replied "Are you serious?"

* When asked why he was avoiding the question, and why these mysterious wordbanks weren't public knowledge, the Senator left.

After a brief apology the Senator agreed to take more questions central to the house vote.

* When asked if he felt his vote could still change in the senate approval vote, the Senator mentioned it as an unlikely possibility.

* When asked whether all unbanked words would be considered invalid going forward, and, if so, whether the worlds leading up to this point and to the end of the conversation could also be taken to the bank, the senator gave a long, uncomfortable look to the reporter lasting over 45 seconds, and then said that "yes, those words could also be taken to the bank", but that it required the usual wordbank processing fee paid to the interviewee.

* When asked the amount of the wordbank processing fee for that interview, the Senator replied "Idunno, what ya got?"

* When presented with $143 in loose cash and change collected from the news crew, the Senator said "Ya, it's exactly that," and took the money.

* When asked why the Senator was walking away again, he replied "That's all you paid for."
