Three Blind Mice Found Dead; Cheese, Mousetrap, Family of Four Implicated in Crime

A joke I made up in the style of Colin Mochrie the news anchor role on Whose Line is it Anyway?:

This just in: All three original members of the Three Blind Mice have been found dead today, covered in cheese and crushed in the basement of a Illinois suburban home, right on the outskirts of Chicago.

The three died after being lured into a mousetrap by a piece of cheese, then summarily crushed by the mechanism.

Mourners line the street of the suburban home today, in protest of the homeowners.

"How could they kill such good mice? They weren't rodents, they were role models," one protester lamented.

The Three Blind Mice wrestled with their addictions of cheese and stepping onto small killing devices for decades. Their failure to clamp down on their urges eventually led to their tragic death.

"A genuine tragedy," remarked Ribbit?, lead guitarist for the "The Quartet of Deaf Frogs" through his sign-language interpreter, Mumbles, former lead-singer of "The Five Mute Mongooses." The other mongooses were not available for comment.

Investi-gators on the scene reported the crime occurred between 1 A.M-2 A.M. Suspects for the crime have been identified and remain at large, standing 4-6 feet taller than their victims. Timmy, the nine year-old son of Mr. William Smith, owner of the Illinois home, is now facing 35-life for planting the cheese. Timmy will be tried as a human. However, it is undetermined whether Timmy will be tried as an adult.

Sgt. Chomps, lead investi-gator, said all three mice piled on top of the cheese at once, then were crushed by the slamming metal bars of the mousetrap.

Sgt. Chomps added that the mice were simply going out for a midnight snack and that they never saw it coming.
