Purple cowboy hat

A man wearing a purple cowboy hat walks into a bar. Suddenly the purple cowboy hat disappears off his head. He steps up to the bartender to ask where his hat went but the bartender vanishes too. Befuddled, the man looks around the bar, which also entirely disappears. Then the city around the bar disappears, as does the nation, the continent, the planet and the entire universe. The man is left floating in a vast, featureless, timeless void. Then he too disappears without a trace, because he was never there. In fact, none if it was ever there, because this is just a joke.
