Boudreaux Goes Looking for a Job

Boudreaux got laid off from his job in Louisiana, so he needed a job. He headed to Mississippi where his cousin works at a logging company. He met with the supervisor for an interview almost immediately.

"Hi, I'm Boudreaux I'm lookin' for a job."'

The supervisor looked Boudreaux up and down and furrowed his brow.

"Boudreaux, where you from?"

"I'm from da Loosiana Bayou, suh."

The supervisor thought to himself "Hah, this coonass wants to come to Mississippi to take one of our folks' job? I can't let this happen, I need to come up for a way to make sure he doesn't."

He replied to Boudreaux, "I tell you what, I'm going to ask you a question. If you get it right, you got the job. Deal?"

Boudreaux shakes his head yes.

"Without using numbers, come up with an equation that equals nine."

Boudreaux thinks real hard to himself, then asks the supervisor for a pencil and paper.

"Tree plus tree plus tree equals nine. Der you go."

"Holy crap!" the supervisor thought to himself. "I didn't expect that."

"Tell you what, I got another question. You get this one right, I'll give you the job, hands down."

Boudreaux nods his head in agreement.

"Come up with an equation that equals 99, but you can't use any numbers."

Boudreaux mutters to himself for a second, looks at the ground, then motions for the pen and paper again.

"Dirty tree plus dirty tree plus dirty tree equals nine-nine. Der you go."

The supe's eyes widen in disbelief. " Jesus christ" he thought to himself. "It's gotta be the nine's."

"Okay okay. One last question. Come up with an equation that equals one-*hundred* without using any numbers. You get it right, you earned the job, hands down."

Boudreaux looks lost for a second, his eyes dance around looking for an answer. He mutters as he counts on his fingers, then motions for the paper again.
