The schizophrenic and the friend are standing behind a large rock in the dead of night. The man named Nothing is behind the next rock about 30 feet away. Searchlights scour the grass between the two rocks. The schizophrenic and the friend are waiting for the signal from Nothing to run the gap, as Nothing has memorized all the searchlight movement patterns.
"Now," said the schizophrenic in a frantic whisper, "you'll look out for Nothing when he comes by and tell me when you see him ... got it?"
"I don't understand what you're trying to tell me!" the friend almost shouts.
"What are you, an idiot?! It's simple. If Nothing is there, say so and we'll run to the rock!"
"But, Nothing really IS there!"
"Wait, WHAT?! Oh my god, I see him too! Let's go run to him!"
Before the friend could react, the schizophrenic ran towards an empty patch of grass and was subsequently torn apart by the guards bullets.
