A nice young black guy

A nice young black guy was seated by the host at a local diner and was waiting for a server to bring him the menu.

Soon a smiling server came to the table with an Arnold Palmer and sat it before the nice young black guy. "Hello sir, I'm Tom and I'll be your waiter today! I know you'll be starting off with an Arnold Palmer with plenty of refills later, but what else can I get for you?"

The black guy looked at the waiter confused and replied, "Actually I need to see a menu first and I don't like Arnold Palmers."

"Well that's a first! I've *never* heard of a black guy not liking Arnold Palmers! I'll go grab you the menu!" remarked the waiter as he hurried off leaving a confused customer behind.

Soon the waiter returned with a menu he placed on the table as well as a gallon of ranch dressing. "Here's your menu, sir! And a gallon of ranch dressing to go with whatever you plan on ordering!" said the happy waiter with a wink.

"What makes you think I want a gallon of ranch dressing? I actually can't stand ranch dressing," said the irritated customer.

"Well that's a first! I've *never* heard of a black guy not liking a gallon of ranch dressing!" remarked the bewildered waiter.

The nice young black guy had had enough. "You're a racist! What's the matter with you?! I want your behavior reported!" he yelled as he grabbed a feedback sheet and pencil from the table and began furiously writing.

The host who had seated him earlier heard the yelling and walked over to the table to find the nice young black guy furiously filling out the form. "Please make sure your boss sees this," he said to the host as he wrote. "I want him to know how this waiter thought I'd want Arnold Palmers and a gallon of ranch just because I'm black!" He then jotted the final period so hard a piece of led broke off the pencil, handed the note to the host, and walked out the door.

"Wow, I can't believe it," said the host looking at Tom in disgust.

"Neither can I!" exclaimed Tom as he picked up the piece of pencil led and marveled at it. "That's a first! I've *never* seen a black guy leave a tip!"
