A man was going to take the train. He was in South Africa back in the days where apartheid still was around.
So he went to the train station and asked if he could buy a ticket to the train. He was told no because there are no places left in the white section. He asked if he could sit in the black section of the train, because he saw it had some seats left empty. But he was told that it was impossible.
But the man had an idea, was if he put shoeshine all over his hands and face, so he looked like a black person. So he went and did that, and returned to the station.
He asked nicely if he could buy a ticked for the train on the black section, and was allowed to do so.
On the train, he got very sleepy, so he asked the conductor of the train if he could wake him up at his station, the conductor agreed.
All went as planned, and the man left the train at the station he was supposed to get off at. He went to the closest toilet to get the shoeshine off. But he could not get it off at all. Suddenly he realised that the train conductor must have waken up the wrong man.
