A Heartwarming Story

One Sunday, George's wife went out to buy grocery and left him and their 3-year old daughter Bonnie at home. Bonnie was playing with her teacup party set while George was reading the morning paper.

While reading, George felt a gentle tap on her knees. When he set down the newspaper, Bonnie was smiling up at him, while offering a cup of "tea", which was just water.

Bonnie, in as cute a voice as 3-year olds have, said, "Have some tea, Daddy."

"Certainly, dear," and George downed the cup then resumed to reading.

After a while, Bonnie tapped George again and offered him some "tea". He drank it once more, offering thanks, which made Bonnie visibly happy.

This happened three more times, and George suddenly realized how much he has missed all these little quiet moments, being always busy at work during the weekdays. He took delight in being able to share this peaceful day with his beloved daughter.

On the last trip, Bonnie gave her daddy another cup of "tea", when the wife chanced upon them, having returned from the grocery. She smiled and asked George, "What are you and Bonnie doing?"

George gave Bonnie back the cup, who immediately ran to "make another one," and he replied to his wife, "Bonnie is making me 'tea'," emphasizing the last word and smiling all the while in contentment. "Don't worry, though, it's just water."

The wife walked slowly, also smiling, and gave George's head a little tap before saying:

"You do know that the only place she could get water at her height is the toilet, right?"
